Many choral singers are familiar with the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams, the quintessential English composer of the early twentieth century. While his large-scale works for chorus and orchestra are standard repertoire, much of his output for chamber choir remains neglected. Whether arranging folksongs, setting English literature, or expanding the repertoire of the church, Vaughan Williams was an essential figure in the history of music suitable for smaller choirs.
